Internet entrepreneur Dave Sifry, founder of Technorati, talked with Informilo recently about his latest venture, Offbeat Guides, which creates personalized, up-to-date paper travel guides using a combination of search technology and curation by both amateur and professional travel experts. Offbeat Guides scours the Web to find the most up-to-date information about a destination, then allows travelers to personalize it based on  travel dates and preferences. Sifry talks about the intersection of digital and paper and the advantages of carrying a paper guide, including the fact that if you drop it in water you don't have to send it back to tech support.  Leger Holidays, a  company that organizes bus trips in Europe and Dopplr, a U.K. site that allows you to privately share future travel plans with friends, recently agreed to partner with Offbeat Guides.
