Spain's Privalia Venta Directa Raises $95 Million from Index Ventures, General Atlantic and Highland Capital Partners

Privalia Venta Directa, a private online sales club, has raised  €70 million ($95 million) in financing from Index Ventures.   Privalia was founded in Barcelona, Spain in 2006 by Lucas Carné and José-Manuel Villanueva and is the market leader in each country in which it currently operates: Spain, Brazil, Italy and Mexico and has over 5 million members worldwide.

Electronic Arts Accelerates Move Into Social Gaming With Playfish Acquisition

In an anticipated deal Electronic Arts announced November 9 that it will buy Playfish, a London-based company that produces games for friends to play together over social and mobile platforms such as Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, Google, iPhone and Android. OpenX Technologies, an independent ad server for web publishers, today announced it has completed a $10 million Series C fundingbringing  the total investment in the company, which was founded in London and is now based in Pasadena, California, to more than $30.8 million.
